At-home guide

Check your vision at home, and see how it changes.

Follow this on your own phone. Start a quick check with no account, set eyeQ up for home if you like, read your results over time, and connect with your care team when you are ready.

Today screen with Start today's check

Before you start

A quiet minute, a well-lit room, and your reading glasses if you use them.

You need the eyeQ app on your phone, or app.eyeq.health in a browser. Hold the phone the way you would hold a book, about 40 cm (16 inches) from your eyes. Every check takes about a minute or two.

i
Your checks stay on your phone.
  • Nothing is sent anywhere until you connect with a care team.
  • eyeQ is for keeping an eye on changes between visits. It is not a replacement for a professional eye exam.
  • If something about your vision worries you, contact your eye-care clinic.

If something looks off

The quickest next step.

The letters look too big or too small

Open Settings and tap Screen size, then match the outline to a card. Check your distance too: 40 cm is about the length of your forearm.

The text is hard to read

eyeQ follows your phone's text size. Turn it up in your phone's accessibility settings; every screen still fits.

My results are not reaching my care team

Open Your results and check the Saved on this phone card. If it says 0 sent, tap Connect with your care team and show the code at your next visit.

I want to check less often, or more

On Your results, tap Set a rhythm under What's next and pick how often you would like to check.

I want to start over

Open Settings and tap Reset this device. This clears every check saved on this phone, so share a PDF first if you want to keep them.

Something about my vision worries me

Contact your eye-care clinic. eyeQ helps you notice changes between visits; it does not diagnose.
